What Is Cryosurgery?
Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy abnormal or unwanted skin cells. The treated tissue blisters, dies, and falls away — leaving healthy skin to regenerate in its place.
How It Works
Liquid nitrogen is applied directly to the lesion, dropping the skin temperature rapidly enough to destroy targeted cells.
What It Treats
Cryosurgery is used for actinic keratoses, warts, seborrheic keratoses, skin tags, and select benign or pre-cancerous growths that respond well to cold destruction.
What to Expect
Cryosurgery is a quick, in-office treatment. Mild stinging during and after the procedure is normal, and treated areas typically heal within one to three weeks.
The staff was pleasant, the wait was short, and the diagnosis and treatment was very straightforward. Dr. Musaev has excellent knowledge and explained things well. The procedure was quick and painless. Clinic location and parking was easy. A great community resource!
